A Dish a Day: Chocolate Tasting at EDGE Restaurant & Bar— + Much More on The Mouthful!
Earlier this week, I covered the sneak peek—or, more accurately, gaping eyeful—I got of the new lunch menu at EDGE Restaurant & Bar for Denver Magazine’s blog, The Mouthful; you can read all about the highlights on exec chef Simon Purvis’s super-duper new “burger bar” (which, despite the name, isn’t actually a self-service deal, just a fine array of variations on the classic theme), as well as pastry chef Christopher Jordan’s winning blood-orange cheesecake/panna cotta in a jar, which needs to be seen to be oohed & awwed over, here.
Chocophiles, however (which I am not; I’d be nutballs not to like it in general, but I don’t much crave it), should check out the chocolate tasting.
Going clockwise from top left, it consists of a remarkably airy Mexican chocolate pot de crème topped with a cinnamon churro; “After Eight” sorbet invigorated with mint & a sprinkling of lavender salt; my favorite, a chocolate-truffle popsicle filled with a sort of passionfruit-honey fluff; & a mini–lava cake distinguished by a clean, clear scoop of ginger ice cream.
Jordan’s a talent to watch—word.

Looks too pretty to eat. But on second thought….
